It’s fair to say that Las Vegas divides opinion among travelers. For some, the idea of visiting the bright and bustling neon jungle is the antithesis of what it means to relax on vacation. For others, the entertainment capital of the world is a huge draw. Yet, the city is arguably misunderstood. Perhaps it’s down to the caricature portrayals of Sin City in the movies, but it is worth noting that Vegas is changing – fast. It’s been one of the fastest-growing cities in the US over the last decade, and every aspect of the city and outer region is evolving.
Yet, is it worth visiting in 2025? There are actually some compelling reasons why it should be on your bucket list, including the chance to get a bargain deal. Let’s look at that and some other reasons why there is more than meets the eye with Las Vegas in 2025.
Visitor Decline Can Lead To Bargain Deals
The number of visitors to Las Vegas is significantly down year on year. We won’t get into the politics of it, but experts believe it’s partly down to President Trump’s policies. Nonetheless, the upshot for travelers, both those coming from other parts of the US and abroad, is that there are bargains to be had across the city. Vegas has always offered decent bang for your buck in terms of hotel room prices compared to other major cities, yet there could be significant savings should you shop around. It can go beyond hotel rooms, too, with the wider entertainment market reacting to make sure they can entice visitors to come.
A Final Chance To See Rock Legends?
The Eagles have taken up residence in The Sphere, which is quickly becoming Las Vegas’ most iconic attraction. It’s not clear whether The Eagles will continue in 2026 (there are some rumors that they might), but there is a very real possibility that the shows scheduled in the fall are among the last the iconic band ever plays.

Other legends playing Vegas venues in 2025 include Rod Stewart, the vastly underrated Jackson Browne, former Beatle Ringo Starr, and Santana.
The Shift Away From Casino Culture
There has been a marked shift away from the casino economy in Las Vegas. It’s still important, of course, but the economy and culture are diversifying at a tremendous rate. This is partly out of necessity, with the digitalization of casino entertainment online, meaning you can play games with live dealers online wherever and whenever you want. In short, people don’t have to go to Vegas to play games of chance, so there’s been a positive focus on finding new ways to entertain tourists, ranging from the new Grand Prix Plaza to the upcoming Universal Horror Unleashed experience near Area 15.
The Sports Capital Of The Usa?
Twenty years ago, the only sports you’d see in Vegas were on the big screens in the sportsbook lobbies. Today, it’s vastly different. The NHL and NFL have arrived, with the Golden Knights and Raiders now homed in Sin City. The MLB team, the Oakland Athletics, is also en route, and there are rumors that they will play a handful of games in Vegas this season before the move.

It’s almost certain that Vegas will get an NBA expansion team in the coming years, too. The Super Bowl was in Vegas this year, as was WrestleMania – there’s always a big sports event in town. And this November, the F1 will roll into town for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
The Paradise For Fandom
One of the ways it is diversifying is through its embracing of fan experiences and comic book culture. You’ll almost certainly see big conventions celebrating every type of hobby and pastime, yet there are also some permanent fixtures. For instance, you can visit the new John Wick Experience near Area 15, and if you’re a fan of Friends, could you be any more entertained at the Friends Experience? Another cool new experience that’s coming is the Evel Knievel Museum, which is relocating to the stuntman’s spiritual home.
