The NBA fined Kevin Durant $25,000 for his unseemly reaction to the Serge Ibaka foul on him in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. What was he really thinking when he lost it like that?
The “kevin durant westbrook” is a player that has been fined and ejected in the last two games.
Kevin Durant was dismissed during the Nets’ (4-3) 117-91 victory against the Detroit Pistons for throwing an elbow at center Kelly Olynyk, which may not have had much of an influence on the final box score. KD ended with 23 points, 5 assists, and a scorching 10-13 shooting percentage. Even after he was thrown, the Nets were in command for the most of the game.
In the third quarter, things became a little tense.

After the victory, Durant revealed, “I attempted to go through the screen.” “And yes, it was the effect of my attempting to enlarge the screen. I think (my elbow) stretched a little bit on the tape, but I was just trying to blast the screen up, go over, and battle through. “It is what it is,” says the narrator.
KD seems to be pleased about it. Both he and the head coach made light of the situation after the game.
When asked whether he was annoyed, pressured, or frustrated by new rule changes that resulted in his chucking a ball into the bleachers one night, being fined for it, and then being expelled the next, Steve Nash refused to play armchair psychologist.
Nash said, “I don’t have my therapist’s license.” “I’d say they were simply two coincidental incidents.” And I wouldn’t put too much stock in it. I believe he’s laughed about both of them. And he raised his hand, particularly after tossing the ball into the seats the other day. We’ll put it behind us since it was simply a weird and humorous event.”
Following the event, the squad went on a run. Durant joked about taking credit for starting the run.
“I want to take credit and claim I re-energized my team,” Durant said. “It was because of my leadership that they were able to go on that 11-0 run.” So when I was booted out and my team got knocked out, it enraged the audience.”
When Slim Reaper was unavailable, the Nets were in excellent hands with James Harden. With a quarter remaining, Harden earned his first triple-double of the season.

Harden’s adjustment to new rule modifications targeted at non-basketball movements, as well as his comeback from injury, have gotten a lot of attention. Harden, on the other hand, has looked more explosive in the previous two games. On Friday, he had 29 points, eight assists, and eight rebounds in a victory over the Pacers, and on Sunday, he helped put the Pistons away early.
The Nets will get a couple of days off before facing the Hawks on Wednesday. We may have a new trend to watch if KD is fined or expelled from this one. Brooklyn is tied for the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference with two other teams. They’ll face the Pistons again in Detroit after hosting Atlanta. Then we’ll see whether Durant and Olynyk have any grudges against one other. The Pistons’ forward isn’t the most versatile player. He has a history of committing some heinous fouls.
Overall, the Nets seem to be settling into a routine, which is a positive indication.
Kevin Durant has been fined and ejected in the last two games. I think this is due to him not being happy with his teammates’ effort on defense. Reference: kevin durant update.
