No, Mark Wahlberg Didn't Get Paid More Because He's a Man

Mark Wahlberg reportedly made 1500 times what Michelle Williams did for All the Money reshoots

Mark Wahlberg was reportedly paid 1500 times what Michelle Williams was to reshoot the Ridley Scott film, All the Money in the World, according to reports from USA Today and the Washington Post.

"On the day after display of female power at the #goldenglobes, I learned that there was an egregious pay gap between Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg for the All The Money In The World reshoot", she wrote. Wahlberg's reshoot fee, noting that the actor "along with manager Stephen Levinson and agency WME, have a reputation in Hollywood for driving a tough bargain".

Michelle Williams and boyfriend Andrew Youmans are apparently heating up!

Actor Christopher Plummer replaced Spacey in the role of billionaire Jean Paul Getty in the film based on the real-life kidnapping of Getty's grandson John Paul Getty III.

USA TODAY: "You didn't pay the actors more to do it?"

"That works out to Williams being paid less than 1% of her male co-star", USA Today explains.

Williams received a Golden Globe nomination for her work in the movie, as did Spacey replacement Plummer, along with the director, Scott.

This claim was later rubbished by the director to told the publication that "everyone did it for nothing", adding, "they all came in for free". Neither she nor her co-star - who are both represented by the same William Morris Endeavour agency - have commented on the reports.

In fact, she'd previously said that "I said I'd be wherever they needed me, whenever they needed me". And they could have my salary, they could have my holiday, whatever they wanted. "While they were aware that they needed to remove Kevin Spacey, they clearly weren't thinking the big picture of 'if we remove him and then people become aware that we're paying another person less, what are they going to think about that?'" she said.

On January 9, USA Today reported that Wahlberg earned $1.5 million for the reshoot, which constitutes 15 percent of the reshoot budget.

The ceremony highlighted the Time's Up initiative, which seeks to take action on sexual harassment and inequality in the workplace.

It was absolutely vital that All the Money in the World was completed in time for December release. "I wonder if the studio or Wahlberg will do something to make the situation less insane". "Everyone did it for nothing", he said, adding, "I refused to get paid".

After Kevin Spacey was accused of sexual assault previous year, the actor was taken off numerous projects from his Master Class to House of Cards.
