Harvey Weinstein assaulted by diner outside Arizona restaurant

Harvey Weinstein Video Shows Restaurant Attack

DISGRACED film mogul Harvey Weinstein has been attacked in an exclusive restaurant by a fellow diner who took him to task over the abuse allegations he faces.

The maker wasn't hurt and purportedly declined to call police, as per nearby ABC subsidiary KNXV-TV. The manager of the restaurant says Weinstein was not belligerent - she says to the contrary he was "very sweet about it" and said, "I'd rather not take a picture right now".

The video shows the man walking up to Weinstein and saying, 'You're such a piece of s-- for what you did to these women, ' and slapping him in the face twice. Weinstein was dining Tuesday night at Elements restaurant in Scottsdale when a guy named Steve approached him and asked for a photo. The camera then follows Weinstein and the sober coach at a distance as the two approach the parking valet in a covered corridor. Steve's companion filmed the incident, which you can watch below, which shows Steve delivering two backhanded slaps to the face while berating Weinstein.

As both parties got up to leave around 9 p.m., Steve, who confessed he had had "quite a bit to drink", asked his friend to shoot a video of the ensuing confrontation.

More than 80 women have come forward with accusations of inappropriate behaviour, rape and misconduct against Weinstein.

Weinstein has been living in Arizona at a rehab facility following accusations from almost 100 women that he sexually harassed/assaulted them.

Lt. Michael Cole, the department spokesperson told THR, Paradise Valley police know about the assault, but a complaint has not been filed yet.

Weinstein was forced to step down as a board member at his production firm The Weinstein Company a year ago (17), after the publication of exposes in The New York Times and New Yorker magazine, detailing decades of alleged sexual misconduct and assault.
