Trump says London attack by 'loser terrorist'

Trump blasts 'loser terrorists' behind London train attack

The terrorist attack recorded yesterday in London underground, where a bomb exploded in a wagon causing a score of casualties, is a new and sad reminder that terrorist threat is permanent, and that all democratic societies must be vigilant. Police said the explosion was a terrorist attack.

Trump on Friday also used the London train attack to renew calls for his controversial travel ban on travelers from several predominantly Muslim countries, which is the subject of fierce legal battles in the U.S. but has partially gone into effect. He also attacked London Mayor Sadiq Khan's response to the attack, prompting Khan to call on United Kingdom officials to cancel the president's upcoming visit.

Scotland Yard declined comment, but British Prime Minister Theresa May quickly responded, saying: "I never think it's helpful for anybody to speculate on what is an ongoing investigation".

Trump also claimed that his administration has accomplished more to defeat ISIS in nine months than Obama's Administration did in eight years.

He tweeted, "Must be proactive & nasty!"

Trump, addressing reporters briefly on camera, called the attack "an absolutely awful thing".

Explosion on London underground train, passengers suffer facial burns
Our city utterly condemns the ugly individuals who attempt to use terror to harm us and destroy our way of life. EST, calling those responsible for the attack " sick and demented people ".

President Donald Trump is calling a fire at a London subway station another attack "by a loser terrorist" and suggesting police there may have missed an opportunity to prevent it.

On Friday, he again stressed that the internet was a main recruitment tool for terrorists. "Must be proactive!" Trump tweeted.

Recently, the Supreme Court allowed the Trump administration to maintain its ban on refugees. Along with advocating for a "larger, tougher" travel ban, the President also suggested shutting down the internet.

The court, which narrowed the scope of lower court rulings that had completely blocked his March 6 executive order, said it would hear arguments on the legality of one of Trump's signature policies in his first months as president in the court's next term, which starts in October.

The ban affects travelers from six mostly Muslim nations and refugees anywhere in the world.

Trump followed minutes later with more tweets that talked about the fight against terrorism and his administration's efforts to do so.
