A two-member fact-finding committee set up by CBSE following the murder of seven-year-old Pradhuman Kumar last week said it appeared from the sequence of events that Ryan's worldwide was guilty of gross negligence.

In its show-cause notice, CBSE noted that the boy's death could have been averted had school authorities discharged their duties with responsibility, care and sincerity.

After this, the CBSE issued a circular mentioning guideline to be adopted by all schools for ensuring the safety of the students.

These directives were issued by the CBSE in the wake of Ryan murder case in which a dead body of class 2 boy was found in the school toilet with its throat slit. "With three days left for submission of charge sheet in court, we have got possible positive leads against the accused school bus conductor Ashok Kumar", a senior SIT officer told PTI. School child protection committees can help the management ensure a safer environment.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday asked schools affiliated to it to carry out complete psychometric evaluations of all employees, including teaching and non-teaching staffs.

The top court tagged the plea of the lawyers along with the petition filed by the father of seven-year-old Pradyuman, who was killed allegedly by a bus conductor at Gurgaon's Ryan International School. The notification demands that schools must get their respective local police station to conduct a security and safety audit of their personnel as well as premises. According to reports from The Hindu, the circular calls for preventive measures including the installation of CCTV cameras in the school premises and the psychometric evaluation and police verification of all the staff members. "Any violation/lapses with regard to safety and well being of children in school campus would invite appropriate action including the disaffiliation of the school as per the provisions under affiliation by-laws of the board", says the communication sent to schools.

The schools should ensure that all supporting staff is employed only through authorized agencies and a proper record for the same is maintained.
