Usain Bolt blames 100 meter loss on starting blocks

Gatlin spoils Bolt's farewell in 100m with remarkable gold

You can not really blame them as Bolt had virtually owned every race he participated and anything less than gold was viewed as failure. The 60,000 plus spectators jeered Gatlin whilst chanting bronze medal victor Bolt's name as if he were the champion.

The monument of the athletics, only 3rd behind Gatlin (9 seconds and 92 cents) and the American Christian Coleman (9 seconds and 94 hundredths of a second) in a time of 9 sec 95, has seen the great feast promised marred by a rider to the sulfurous past, which adds to her locker, a crime of lèse-majesté in the enclosure heated from the olympic Stadium. Putting on the now famous Jamaican yellow vest, Bolt has brought so much ecstasy to diverse peoples across the globe.

The question on the lips of concerned sport enthusiasts the world over is: "What happens to athletics after the exit of Usain Bolt?". With a cocktail of cockiness, swag and showmanship never seen on the world stage of track and field, Bolt became a worldwide legend.

Through most of the race, it looked as if Bolt would be trying to reel in Coleman, the NCAA champion, who was in Lane 5, and got out faster than anyone in the field.

Growing a goatee may give him a touch of maturity while he would still give the big innocent grin at the cameras on the starting line, joke with Hero the Hedgehog and flash thumbs-up sign to the crowd and make his trademark pose of shooting off invisible arrows despite the third place finish. In that period, his amassed six gold medals in the 100m race, seven gold medals in the 200m race and six gold medals in 4x100m event. Bolt is not the one that was crushing everything in its path with chronos from elsewhere, but this outcome was finally like a relief to an athlete who has dedicated his life to his sport from a very young age.

For me the whole event has been overshadowed by controversy, particularly over the drugs issue - a problem that's gone on for so many years now.

The Briton is aiming to complete an unprecedented World Championship triple-double, having retained his 10,000m title on the first day - the home nation's only medal. All nine are by Bolt.

Chelsea step up pursuit of Leicester City's Danny Drinkwater
According to the Telegraph , Chelsea are getting ready to submit a second offer for Leicester midfielder Danny Drinkwater . FANCY Rom to run riot at the Red Devils? Well get on Sun Bets' special offer for the Premier League top goalscorer then.

Heats for the 4x100m will take place also on Saturday.

Gatlin, who actually trailed Bolt at the halfway point, heard boos cascade loudly across the stadium when his winning time, 9.92 seconds, popped up on the scoreboard. Until this year, Bolt seemed unbeatable.

"You guys call it losses, losses, losses", Gatlin said. Bolt graciously settled for a bronze. "I don't think it gets any worse than that", he said, referring to the problems in Russian Federation. "I knew it. And when I left the blocks, I was like 'Aaaah'".

According for Forbes magazine, Bolt has earned $32.2 million in 2017, with a majority coming via product endorsements.

Perhaps more foreboding, though, is that the IOC has already stripped Bolt of one of his nine Olympic gold medals. His 9.85-second run was the third fastest in Olympic history. "Usain Bolt is a genius".

Should we also have a niggling worry that popularity may mean the same searchlight doesn't shine as brightly on other parts of the world? Granted, this was because a member of his relay team tested positive.
