Germany secured a Confederations Cup semifinal spot as they beat Cameroon 3-1 in Sochi to win Group B.

Cameroon coach Hugo Broos was left confused after there were more farcical scenes involving the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system in his side's 3-1 loss to Germany at the Confederations Cup on Sunday.

Germany entered the match knowing that any victory would be enough to win the section, and the world champions will now take on Mexico in the competition's second semi-final on June 29.

Chile, who face European champions Portugal in the last four on Wednesday in Kazan, came second in the group with five points, two behind Germany and three ahead of Australia in third.

"I won't use the same team we had against Chile, those who play will have earned their chances", he explained.

"I can not change too much".

In 2017, the Australian national team played six games, won twice, tied twice and lost as many times.

Germany are second in the table on goal difference behind Chile with both teams on four points.

Sanchez, 28, surpassed former La Roja star Marcelo Salas with his 38th global goal in Thursday's 1-1 draw with world champions Germany in Russian Federation.

"I'm very happy to be Chile's top-scorer now, our dream is to win this tournament and we feel we have a chance", said Sanchez, who refused to be drawn about his Arsenal future.

Chile goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, playing for the first time in two months due to a calf injury, showed no signs of rust, showing quick reactions to block Massimo Luongo's 36th-minute effort at the near post.

The 1-1 draw in Tim Cahill's 100th game for his country meant an early exit from the tournament but the manner in which the Socceroos took the game to Chile provided plenty of hope for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Japan and Thailand.

"He is a great Australian, transcending sport, to play at three World Cups".

Postecoglou was delighted with his side's display at Spartak Stadium but described their failure to advance as a "missed opportunity".

Chile's captain, Inter Milan defender Gary Medel, is fit despite limping out of the draw against Germany with cramp.

Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez was on target in that game to become Chile's all-time leading scorer with 38 global goals.

Sanchez has claimed two further landmarks in Russian Federation, notably drawing level with Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo as Chile's most-capped player.
