Jordan Spieth wins after play-off — Travelers Championship

Spieth will head into Sunday's final round looking for his 10th PGA Tour victory.

Who forecasted that last week?

A 20-foot putt for birdie at the final hole was icing on the cake and will now see Spieth trying to become just the second player in history after Tiger Woods to win 10 times before his 24th birthday. Keegan Bradley (66) called TPC River Highlands "a tricky little course" in the gusts.

With his third different putter in as many days, Rory McIlroy posted his best PGA Tour round of the season on Sunday at the Travelers Championship.

David Lingmerth and C.T. Pan are also at eight under. Casey lost in a playoff to Bubba Watson here in 2015. Purse: $2 million (First prize: $300,000).

He improved one place at the Travelers Championship and even has an outside chance of notching a second career win on the Tour. "He's not afraid to do so", Spieth said about Weekley. He seeks to be the first wire-to-wire victor of the tournament since Tim Norris.

For Weekley, his goal was simply to contend for his first Tour win since 2013.

Weekley, a three-time victor on tour and one of the heroes for the the 2008 Ryder Cup, hasn't had a top-10 finish since February of 2016. "That's fun to play with".

"I hit some really good shots out there and I hit a couple of scrappy ones coming in but my short game saved me", Bland said. "He's not afraid to do so".

Leishman was the only Australian to shoot under par on day three as stronger winds made the TPC River Highlands course tricky for the field. "My hat's off to him".

On trump sued for violation of the Constitution
Trump has come under scrutiny for his alleged business dealings with American adversaries such as Russian Federation and China. It's the first lawsuit of its kind against a president which involves the Constitution's Emoluments Clause .

Saturday Weekley played two threesomes behind Spieth, Patrick Reid and Troy Merritt.

Play was delayed Saturday after morning rain, but the first groups started at 10:45 a.m. and the sky was clear by late morning. On some holes, galleries often lined both sides of the fairways.

On the par-4 10th, Spieth got his groove back. "I thought those two up-and-downs along with obviously the chip in on 6 [for a birdie 4] were massive", he said.

"I'm not going to react to what other guys are doing maybe until the last couple of holes".

Spieth opened with five straight pars before birdies on 6 and 7. He needed it to ward off the surging Charley Hoffman, who had eagled the par-5 13th and birdied 14.

Spieth has finished each round with a one-shot lead in a tournament he's playing for the first time.

Then as quickly as Hoffman took the lead, he gave it away. There's plenty of room right and I toed over underneath the trunk and it cost me a bogey. He hit the wrong wedge at 14 on his approach and scored a bogey 5. After carding an even par-35 on the front, Weekley birdied Nos.

In addition to his new putting grip, Weekley has used a discarded putter from Matt Every for the past month. "If I can strike the ball like this and putt average, this is sort of what I can do". "Yeah, that's a lot of washing".

Daniel Berger is at 9-under, three shots off the lead. He tapped in the birdie putt of a few inches.

Broadhurst, who won the Senior British Open and PURE Insurance Championship previous year on the 50-and-over tour, followed birdies on the par-5 16th and par-3 17th with a bogey on the par-4 18th to finish at 12-under 132. "You've got to imagine Berger has ice in his veins and somebody who has won recently. I mean, I've been having some personal struggles back home that I'm finally starting to get taken care of", said Weekley, who politely declined to discuss the personal issues further.
