India arrests 15 for cheering Pakistan in Champions Trophy

Pakistan stunned the cricketing world on Sunday when it beat archrival and hot favourite India by 180 runs in the final.

The men were denied bail in Madhya Pradesh state after appearing in court where they were charged with sedition. Outplayed and out of sorts, Pakistan looked like a side unable to adapt to the demands of modern limited overs cricket. Both Zaman and Azhar Ali (59) made India pay and scored 49 runs in seven overs to take the score to 56 for naught in the first powerplay.

People charged with sedition have to surrender their passports, are not eligible for government jobs, must appear in court as and when required, and spend money on legal fees. Some Pakistan supporters even mocked India captain Virat Kohli along with a few other players, who didn't respond to the comments. Fans have pat the back of our players for reaching the final on the basis of consistent performances, consoled them saying it was just a one off-day, filled confidence in them saying they will stand by them no matter win or loss and wished them for upcoming tournaments. The match saw some incredible performances from both teams and Twitter has been at it posting about the match. "The century maker (Fakhar Zaman) was caught off a no ball, else it could have been a different game", said the former wicketkeeper-batsman.

Virat Kohli of India leaves the field after being dismissed during the ICC Champions Trophy final match between India and Pakistan at the Kia Oval cricket ground. "It was a very big will be remembered for a long time and we are enjoying every moment of it".

Thousands of fans stayed up late across the country to welcome home members of the Pakistan squad. We were good in patches, didn't have to work really hard to get to the final if you compare it to previous ICC tournaments.

Record-breaking congressional election headed for photo finish
It's the best shot the party has of the four House special elections this spring to win a seat that now belongs to Republicans. She and outside groups supporting her campaign have instead tried to link Ossoff to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Sarfraz was named as skipper for his inspirational leadership which included a match-clinching 61 not out during a three-wicket win over Sri Lanka in a virtual quarter-final. "I would says just don't put something up for the sake of it", he added.

"When players like that get going on their day, it becomes real hard to stop them because I think 80 per cent of his shots were high-risk and they were all coming off", said Kohli. "Whether that gets changed, the consideration has been given to changing to two T20s in a four-year cycle which would mean swapping the Champions Trophy for a World T20".

India captain Kohli conceded Pakistan were worthy winners and, while he claimed to be proud of his players, his admission that the new champions played with more passion was a damning indictment. "And yes, 25 extras is a bit too much, and that's something we certainly need to take care of in future".

Junaid, Azhar Ali, and others contributed to the team and played well throughout the tournament. I would do the same here because they deserved to win.

"Today's win shows that no one is favorite when it comes to India v Pakistan match in worldwide cricket", said a beaming Mohammad Ashraf, who distributed candies among people on a street in Rawalpindi.
