Pakistan beat Sri Lanka by three wickets to seal semis

England with their fearless batting can humiliate any side, but Pakistan's bowling department is no push over, they can cause a serious problem but it all depends on which Pakistan side turns up, the one that played against India or the one that played against South Africa and Sri Lanka.

Fakhar hit Mark Wood for the first six of the match in the opening over of Pakistan's innings and he and Azhar played some delightful strokes in a fluent partnership.

It's a flawless situation for Pakistan, who are now looking to build up on the momentum that shifted their way after a 19-run win against South Africa in a rain-hit match at Edgbaston last Wednesday. The last time both faced in an ICC ODI tournament was in 2003 WC. Although Pakistan have maintained their dominance at home and UAE, they are ahead in Sri Lanka as well with 20-18.

Despite Niroshan Dickwella's 73, the Pakistan attack - led by Junaid Khan (3-40) and Hasan Ali (3-43) - forced a Sri Lanka collapse from 161-4 to 236 all out at Sophia Gardens. Live Streaming: Sky Go and Watch Sky Sports.

Shoaib Malik (11) then feathered a catch behind following an attempted pull off Malinga.

Debutant Faheem Ashraf's short-lived stay at the crease was fraught with danger as the bowlers peppered him with short deliveries, several of which caught his top edge but managed to evade the boundary riders.

At the other end, Mohammad Amir provided an equally valuable contribution, taking singles to rotate the strike as he reached an unbeaten 28.

It seems Hodgkinson's opinions haven't changed much in the past 6 years. "I can't wrap my head around it", Hodgkinson said. Jack Sava, director of trauma at MedStar Washington Hospital Center said at a news conference Friday afternoon.

There were no such errors from Pakistan with the ball though.

The Sri Lanka skipper said at his pre-match press conference on Sunday: "We are not trying to get too far ahead".

A sensational four-over burst from Amir and Junaid ripped the heart out of the Sri Lankan middle order as they went from 161 for 3 to 167 for 7.

And nothing should be taken from Pakistan who were thumped by India in their first game of this tournament but have recovered to now stand on the brink of the final. Either way, it was match-turning.

It's not surprising that Angelo Mathew's timely return coincided Sri Lanka's form reversal in the tournament.

According to the official Sri Lanka Cricket website on Saturday, the ICC event technical committee comprising Geoff Allardice, Campbell Jamieson, Steve Elworthy, Alan Fordham, Sourav Ganguly and Michael Slater confirmed Dhananjaya's replacement.

England checked out of the Champions Trophy with an embarrassing whimper in an eight-wicket semi-final trouncing at the hands of Pakistan in Cardiff.
