Eoin Morgan: England did not lose to Pakistan because of over confidence

Virat Kohli should avoid making any changes to the team for the Champions Trophy summit clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, believes Rahul Dravid.

"We've seen some really surprising results and it's been wonderful for the fans to watch and for the players to be a part of", Kohli said.

Waqar Younis slammed a suggestion by England captain Eoin Morgan that a used pitch had been responsible for their downfall after Pakistan thrashed the tournament hosts by eight wickets in a dramatically one-sided Champions Trophy semi-final at Cardiff on Wednesday. Players of the two teams who featured in the 2007 final also recalled their moments ahead of Sunday's game. "Losing those two wickets to an occasional bowler obviously didn't help".

"(But) certainly, that hasn't gone to our heads at all".

"We played some really good cricket".

"I think we have got a great chance to restore our pride in the final because of the way we lost the first match to India", he said on "Samaa" television channel.

Sarfraz was well supported by left-arm seamer Mohammad Amir, with whom he shared an unbeaten 75-run partnership.

But as we all know, the Spurs just don't give a hoot about ratings or, for that matter, media attention of any kind. There are decisions that need to be made every single year and you've got to assess the situation as it is.

"We have guys who have such skill and such an ability that they can perform on any stage. We have traditionally made heavy weather of some small chases and today [Monday] we nearly threw the game away chasing another below-par score", Afridi added.

"What we are going to try to do is repeat the similar sort of cricket that we have played so far, knowing the strengths and weaknesses they (Pakistan) have".

Unafraid to go round the wicket, Hasan took three for 35 - all top-order wickets - against a powerful batting line-up as England slumped to 211 all out. "I think Virat has to stick to what's worked well for him".

Chasing a modest 237 to win, opener Fakhar Zaman (50, 36b, 8×4, 1×6) slammed an aggressive fifty at the top but Pakistan suffered an inexplicable collapse to slip to 162 for seven. "They bowled really well", he said. Yes, the Indians very confidently made its entry into Finals to face Pakistan defeating one of the tournament's favorites' South Africa and followed by Bangladesh team yesterday.

Given that Bhuvneshwar Kumar, India's most successful bowler, has taken six wickets so far, it will take something special to stop Hasan from finishing as the leading wicket-taker in a tournament featuring the world's top eight one-day global sides. We've got nothing to lose, yes, but we've always said we're in it to win it. "Definitely, they have had an upper hand in ICC tournaments, but now things have changed and this is the time for us to change the script", he said.

"We dropped three catches (Azhar Ali was put down in the first over), but there has been a genuine effort from the boys and from the support staff, and we've expressed a lot about our fielding and we've talked about it a lot".

Morgan's opposite number Sarfraz Ahmed hailed Pakistan's near ideal performance. The best possible team played in the Champions Trophy according to him and he is planning the 2019 World Cup with the same setup.
